This class works on the basics of practicing a set series of "Yoga Poses" (Yogasana) for constructive postural alignment and noticeable health benefits. If you're a complete beginner, this class is a great start to your yoga journey. The intention of the class is to give each student thorough experience and understanding of a short series of standing asana, as well as simple seated exercises and (always!) shavasana - the pose of pure consciousness. Over time, you'll discover why it is the most important one!
Sticky mats, bolsters, blankets, belts and chairs are available for the class. Please bring your sticky mat and any additional props as convenient for you.

Level 2 - 3 (experienced beginners and beyond)
Tuesdays and Fridays 10:00 am - 11:00 AM
If you're newer to yoga, this class is a great way to nurture your growing practice. If you're experienced, you'll enjoy the group atmosphere and attention to detail. Please note that I'm now offering a Beginner's Class on Wednesdays and Thursdays 10-11 AM if it has been a while since you've practiced, or if you're a complete beginner.
There are many ways to approach each asana; here, we'll practice with the goal of finding space and improved circulation in your body. We'll often also practice for one legged balancing poses - cultivating greater connection into your feet and legs, which brings uplift to the entire spinal column. You'll learn simple, expanding breath-led transitions between postures, as well as methods to bring ease to the entire practice. You'll be amazed at how good you feel after class.

Starting your day with an asana practice is sure to get you off to the best start possible - centered, balanced and energized. Even if you are a complete beginner, you are welcome to join us if this class time works for you.

Level 4 (3+ years of consistent yoga practice)
Saturday 9:00 - 11:00 AM
One of the definitions of YOGA given in the Indic classic the "Bhagavad Gita" is SKILL IN ACTION. When we come to the yoga mat and practice asana with care and mindfulness, we gain skills of understanding and controlling our mind and physicality. From here, we may begin to approach the deeper yogic methods that lead to meditative awareness. All of the boons of yogic practice include greater skills in our everyday lives, from how we care for our own bodies and do our work, to how we interact with others and our environment.
For this class, be ready to explore the details of healthy, constructive alignment in standing asana, more complicated seated asana, as well as mantra (Sanskrit recitation), pranayama (energetic awareness, yogic breath), and pratyahara (sense withdrawal). All of these practices aim to increase your capacity to concentrate (dharana), meditate (dhyana) and experience absorption in the Now (samadhi).
A consistent asana practice and/or attendance of at least one other weekly class is strongly encouraged. This class includes inversions: you do not need to know how to do them before attending, just be willing to try!

This class is all about deep, supported, restorative relaxation. Through a series of cooling and grounded poses, you'll unwind anxiety and relieve your body of long-held tension. Within the practice, we'll also touch on the basics of Pranayam - yogic breath - to deepen your experience of physical & mental relaxation and allow your inner Self to unfold and radiate.

If you're ready to really enjoy your body through music and movement: these classes are for you!
Fusion Belly Dance refers to a style of belly dance that incorporates movement patterns and techniques from other dance styles - although the truth is all dances interact and "fuse" elements of other styles. I think of belly dance as a "folk dance", a dance for "everyday people" to experiment, explore and enjoy movement with a focus on the hips being mobile and earthy.
